Do you ever get a little bit stressed trying to stuff a full face of makeup into a tiny carry-on bag? Do you just want to get more bang for your buck? We get it: cosmetics are expensive. A full face of makeup is expensive.
But it doesn’t have to be so bad.
A lot of makeup can actually serve multiple purposes, and doubling up on your routine could save you space, money, and effort.
Want to know some multifunctional makeup products? Keep on reading to find out!
Mascara is always kind of a painful thing to buy, especially since you’re supposed to throw them out every three months. Are you sick of dumping mascara tubes that don’t seem that old? Use your old mascara tubes as a brow gel!
It will save you a ton of money on brow products, especially since they’re kind of the same thing.
The great thing about eyeshadow is that most eyeshadow products are just pigments. Therefore, they can be used to add color to most parts of your face.
You can use that shimmer shade that seems a bit too glam to use every day as a soft highlight on the cheekbones, or even take a warm orange or pink transition shade and use it as a one of a kind blush!
Dark shades can be used just as easily. That scary deep black shade can be used for a smudged eyeliner look, or even to fill in your brows if you have dark hair (Stick to a brown or taupe eyeshadow for this if your hair is a lighter shade).
Again, eyeshadow is a product that you can get pretty creative with. Take a closer look at that palette you splurged on and see how much use you can truly get out of it.
Powder blush, again, can be used as a great eyeshadow shade, especially those with a little bit of glimmer.
Have a liquid blush? Even better! If it’s safe to wear on the lips, use it as a lip color! Better yet, keep your eye out for products like Benefit’s Benetint, which advertise themselves as multifunctional. Not only are you saving money, but you’re also adding a consistent and exact color match to your everyday look!
Ever seen one of those “Full Face Using Concealer” videos on YouTube? No, we’re not going to make you go to that kind of extreme, but concealers can actually be used in a variety of ways.
Have a high coverage concealer that you absolutely love? You can use that as a foundation! Take a concealer a few shades deeper than your skin tone, and now you’ve skipped out on having to buy a WHOLE contour kit! (Who even uses all of the shades in those things?)
**For all of these, make sure to check out some buy one get one free deals while you’re shopping. Do you need two tubes of your favorite concealer? No. But is there a darker shade that allows you to get a concealer with a FREE liquid contour?
